Hudson Valley Male and Female Athletes of the Month

Raeshelle FrasierRaeshelle Frasier (Schenectady/Schenectady) had a career year in her first season for the Vikings women's basketball team. Frasier broke the single-season rebounding record with 396 in just 22 games. The record was previously held by Elizabeth Ferenczy, who tallied 353 rebounds in 28 games. Frasier recorded a double-double in 21 of the 24 games, including three games in which she recorded 20+ points and 20+ rebounds.

Frasier finished the 2012-13 season leading the nation in rebounding, with 16.5 per game, and was ranked seventh in the region in scoring, averaging 16.0 points per game. She also earned Region III Player of the Week honors earlier in the season, with averages of 23.0 points and 19.5 rebounds in the two-game stretch.

Jose ReyesJose Reyes (Shenendehowa/Clifton Park) had an impressive month of February in men's basketball, winning back-to-back Region III Player of the Week honors as well as National Player of the Week honors. In the week in which he earned National Player of the Week, Reyes averaged a double-double in two games, with averages of 15.0 points and 12.5 assists. Reyes was responsible for 63% of the team's total offense during the week in which the Vikings upset #6 nationally ranked SUNY Delhi. He tallied a career-high 14 assists against Schenectady County Community College and went 5-11 (45.4%) from behind the arc in the two games.

Reyes ranks seventh in the region in scoring, with 15.3 points per game, and first in the region in assists, averaging 7.6 per game. His strong performances helped the Vikings win five of their last six games, earning a number six seed in the Regional Tournament.
