The Hudson Valley Community College women’s basketball team (2-3) lost to SUNY Adirondack (5-0) 69-51 on Wednesday evening.

The Vikings opened the game with a full-court press in hopes to disrupt the Timberwolves offense, but Adirondack responded by breaking the press which led to fast break opportunities. Hudson Valley kept the game close during the first half going into the locker room down 36-27.

The Vikings fought hard during the next two quarters, but were unable to stop the Timberwolves offense. Top contributors on the night were Kali Szczepanski (Watervliet/Watervliet) with 19 points and Shelby Dugan (Watervliet/Watervliet) with 10 points.

The women’s next game is at home against Albany Pharmacy on Tuesday, November 29 at 6 p.m.
