Educational Opportunity Program (EOP)
The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP)
provides the one-on-one tutorial and counseling
services for New York State applicants who are
considered academically at risk and from low income
households, according to definitions set
forth by the State University of New York.
Applicants must complete the Hudson Valley
Community College Application for
Admission and the Educational Opportunity
Program (EOP) Early Information Form to be
considered for enrollment in the program.
Both applications are available in the
Admissions Office and EOP Office.
In order to meet the eligibility requirements
of EOP, applicants must be:
- A graduate of a New York State accredited
high school and a resident of New York
State (at least 12 months prior to the first
term of enrollment).
- Academically under-prepared for college
level work (high school averages under 80)
and/or be a recipient of the General
Equivalency Diploma (GED).
- A first-time college student and apply during
his/her first term of enrollment.
Selection of eligible applicants is conducted
by the EOP director.
EOP students are entitled to $150 to $300 in
personal expenses per academic year.
