The Photovoltaic Installation certificate prepares you to enter the growing industry of solar panel installation and maintenance. The program includes courses in basic electricity, residential and commercial construction wiring, and photovoltaic theory and practice. Those who complete the training will be prepared to take a certification exam in the photovoltaic field.
This academic program is primarily designed for those who wish to enter the workforce immediately following graduation.
Some students who complete the Electrical Construction and Maintenance associate degree continue on to complete this certificate.

Entrance and Course Requirements
- The program makes use of the college's TEC-SMART facility in Malta, which has a dedicated PV lab.
- Course work provides students the foundational knowledge to pursue Building Performance Institute (BPI) certifications.
Program can be completed by attending entirely in the evening.
Graduates of the program are well prepared to enter the solar residential and commercial installation field, which is growing across the country. Career titles include: Photovoltaic Solar Panel Installer.
