“When the dust settles, Joni Mitchell may stand as the most important and influential female recording artist of the late 20th century.” – Allmusic. Producer and bassist Scott Petito assembles a world class ensemble of the region’s most well-respected musicians to interpret the timeless music of Joni Mitchell, perhaps best known for “Both Sides Now” and “Big Yellow Taxi.” Considered 1960s and 1970s folk royalty, the Canandian-born artist won her first of eight Grammys for “Clouds” (1969). In 21 albums (excluding compilations), Mitchell displays a limitless talent for wry and pointed lyrics, and “largely self-invented musical chords, a kind of calligraphy of moods.” Her voice is indescribable. Joining Petito on stage are Gail Ann Dorsey, Veronica Nunn, Leslie Ritter, Jay Collins, Danny Blume, Roberto Rodriguez, Travis Shook and special guest, Rachel Z.
Tickets: $10/person at the door; free for Hudson Valley students with your ID.
