"Wild" Author Cheryl Strayed Comes to Hudson Valley Community College this Week

What: Hudson Valley Community College welcomes Cheryl Strayed to read from and discuss her memoir, “Wild,” on Thursday, March 12 at 7 p.m. The public is invited free of charge. In “Wild,” Strayed tells of her solo, 1000-mile hike on the Pacific Crest Trail as she tried to mend her life following her mother’s untimely death, a divorce and her slide into a risky lifestyle that included heroin use. Strayed’s book was made into a movie, starring Reese Witherspoon and directed by Jean-Marc Vallee, in late 2014.
Where: Bulmer Telecommunications Center, Hudson Valley Community College
When: 7 p.m., Thursday, March 12
Details: The event will also include a book-signing by Strayed following her talk.
Seating is limited and on a first-come basis. Tickets will be distributed beginning at 5 p.m. and doors open at 6:15 p.m.
