History, Philosophy and Social Sciences

The History, Philosophy and Social Sciences Department is a service department that provides elective as well as required courses for degree and certificate programs.

The department has numerous faculty who have received the President's Award for Excellence in Teaching and the Chancellor's Award for Excellence, which is the highest honor a faculty member or administrator can receive in the State University of New York (SUNY) system.

Service Learning & Civic Engagement

The department is engaged in the cultural life of the campus and the community. We encourage students to be involved in their community by providing opportunities for them to get credit for doing such work through Service Learning & Civic Engagement.
