This certificate program is designed for those who wish to pursue or maintain a career in the field of animal advocacy. The program is also designed for those who simply wish to increase their knowledge regarding the legal protection of animals.

Some students may continue on to become advocates, while others want to work in other animal-related fields.

Hudson Valley Community College is the only community college in the nation offering a certificate program in Animal Policy.

This program is offered through the Criminal Justice, Forensic Science and Public Administration Department.
