Cricut® Crafting Basics

Whether you’re a creative pro or brand new to DIY, Cricut® will help you make personalized, professional-quality projects with ease. Cricut® smart cutting machines allow you to create projects for home décor, parties and events, weddings, apparel and more. Learn how to use Circuit Design Space™ software to find images, projects and fonts, and design your heart out. All great projects start with an idea – make yours come to life using your computer, tablet or smartphone! This course teaches students how to navigate Circuit Design Space™ and provides a review of Cricut® smart cutting machine options, cutting materials, and cutting tools. Students will have an opportunity to use the Cricut Maker© to cut pieces for a spring themed project and then assemble and take home. You do not need to bring a Cricut® machine to this class. Course fee includes a $3 computer fee and $5 materials fee.

Cricut® Crafting Intermediate

Cricut® smart cutting machines are an amazing tool to create beautiful crafts for home décor, parties and events, weddings, apparel and more. Navigating Circuit Design Space™ is key to successful crafting with Cricut®. In this course you will learn how to upload SVG, JPEG, and PNG files, how to use the group, attach, weld, slice and contour functions, and how to add score lines in Circuit Design Space™. Students will have an opportunity to cut and adhere an iron-on project using the Cricut Easy Press™. Course fee includes a $3 computer fee and $10 materials fee.

Glass Etching

Have you ever wanted to learn how to personalize your glassware? Join this class and learn how to etch words onto glass surfaces with etching paste. We will practice on a glass and a mason jar that you can take home that day. After this class, you won’t have to pay for expensive personalized glassware – you’ll be able to do it yourself! Course fee includes $10 materials fee.

Basic Watercolor

Join us to discover different ways of using transparent watercolor paint, from free experimentation to more controlled approaches. We will explore painting techniques, color theory, sketching, and composition while observing flowers, still life, and landscape. Everyone is welcome, beginners and longtime painters alike. Please bring whatever materials you already have, or purchase the following supplies: a pan set of transparent watercolor paints, a pointed-round watercolor brush (approximately size 6), a 9” x 12” pad of 140# watercolor paper, pencil, masking tape, two water containers, and two pieces of cardboard (slightly larger than size of paper).

Soap Making

If you’re intrigued by the idea of making your own soap but the instructions you’ve seen just seem too complicated, this class if for you. We’ll make both glycerin and lye soaps to take home, using only natural ingredients and pure essential oils to color, decorate and scent your sample bars. You’ll leave with all the information and confidence needed to make your own soap at home, whether you are looking for a quick batch of handmade gifts or want to get into serious soap sales. Course fee includes $15 materials fee.

Creative Expression: Winter Slate Painting Class

Creative Expression: Sunflower Board Art Painting Class

Fiber Arts: Recreate Your Own Clothing

(Adult & Children 10+) A creative class just for you. Do you have something in your closet that no longer fits, is boring, or you just don’t like anymore? Learn how to convert that into something unique and stylish of your own creation! In this class, you will bring whatever item you want to work on, and the teacher will help you to get your creative juices flowing and convert that boring thing into something you can’t wait to wear. To be prepared for this class, you will need to bring your own sewing machine, sharp fabric scissors, tailor’s chalk, seam ripper, ruler, matching thread, and anything else you may want to add to your project. You must already know how to sew a straight stitch on your own machine. This will be a mixed adult and mature child class for ages 10+. Fiber Arts: Crochet for Beginners

In this class, you will learn the basic crochet stitches, including single, double and half double, by creating a sampler scarf using various popular pattern designs. You will also learn the popcorn stitch, cluster stitch and others while learning to follow the directions of a pattern. Crochet uses one hook so is easier to do for some of us, even if you are left handed! After completing this class, you will be able to make blankets, hats, purses, and more. Fiber Arts: Knitting for Beginners

With only two stiches, you can create endless designs. This class will make a sampler neck scarf and ribbed hat using the garter stitch (knit every row), the stockinet stitch (knit a row, purl a row) and ribbing. Learn to cast stiches into the needles and bind off the end row of stitches. This relaxing, creative class can be fun whether you knit for yourself or for someone else. Knitting needles and yarn will be provided at the first class. Class fee includes $7 materials fee. Basket Weaving: The Whiner Double Rimmed Bread Basket

This rectangular basket is woven with natural reed of varying sizes and dyed reed overlays. This useful basket has double rims and leather bushel basket handles and measures 12” long by 7” wide and 6” tall. This basket requires a little extra patience but will look great at your dining room table! Course fee includes $29 materials fee. Basket Weaving: Crayon Basket

Using a plastic bowl as a mold, which you may keep as a liner if you choose, we will start to weave on a 5” round wooden base. Using dyed primary colors as stakes, we will weave the basket in a basic 2/2 twill pattern with natural reed for a contrast and finish it off with a double braided rim. Basket is approximately 8” tall and 9” wide. This basket is for experienced weavers only. Course fee includes $32 materials fee.
