Students interested in adding another class to their Spring semester schedule at Hudson Valley Community College now have an added incentive: free textbooks.

The college will cover the cost of textbooks for all students interested in taking an 8-week Sprint class from March 22 through May 11, 2021.

Sprint classes provide complete course content on a condensed schedule, and more than 70 courses will be offered in the upcoming 8-week session. Subject areas include: Accounting, Art, Business, Computer Science, Criminal Justice, Economics, English, Health, History, Human Services, Marketing, Psychology, Sociology and Theatre.

All Sprint courses will be offered in an online or remote learning format. Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) funding provided to the college by the federal government will be used to cover the cost of the textbooks.

Textbooks will be shipped to students who register and pay for the course on or before March 12. Those who do so after that date may pick up their textbook at the Viking’s Cove Bookstore on campus by March 26. Those who already have purchased their books, should contact the bookstore for a refund. Students who drop a course must return the books supplied by the college.
