Registering for a Course

If you are looking to register for a course (or more), but not enroll in a degree or certificate program, you have the following options:

  • Advisement
    If you need help in selecting the right course(s), our academic advisors can help. Call (518) 629-7338 to make an appointment or you can walk-in on a first-come, first-served basis in the main office, located in Guenther Enrollment Services Center, Room 231. See our Academic Advisement page for locations and hours.
  • In-Person
    If you know the course(s) you would like to register for, you can register in-person at the Registrar's Office, located in the Guenther Enrollment Services Center, during regular business hours.
  • By Phone
    Call (518) 629-4560, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Advisement is not available at this number.
  • Online
    To register via Hudson Valley WIReD you will need an AVN (advisement verification number). You can request an AVN online. All AVNs will be mailed to your permanent address. Current and former students with a FERPA password may call (518) 629-7338 to request an AVN.

Once you schedule you courses, you will need to complete the following to be a registered student:

Submit Immunization Records
New York State law requires that all students born on or after Jan. 1, 1957, and who enroll in six or more credits for any given term to provide proof of immunity to measles, mumps and rubella.

 Pay Your Tuition Bill
You must pay the tuition bill or confirm your registration by the close of business on the due date in order to secure your schedule.
NOTE: In order to qualify for resident tuition rates, you must have a valid Certificate of Residence on file each year.
