College to Host Free Event for High School Students Interested in Exploring Engineering Careers

October 16, 2015

High school students interested in a career in engineering are encouraged to attend "Experience Engineering," a free panel discussion featuring engineers and engineering students from 6:15 to 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4 in Hudson Valley Community College's Bulmer Telecommunications Center meeting rooms.

Engineers and engineering students from area colleges will share their experiences and answer questions from audience members. Speakers will provide insight into what it's like to be an engineer, what education is required and career opportunities in engineering.

The panel discussion seeks to encourage women and minority students in particular to consider a career in engineering, since both groups are traditionally underrepresented in the field. All students and their parents are welcome to attend the event.

For more information, call Hudson Valley Community College's Department of Math and Engineering Science at (518) 629-7358.
