Student Artwork Included in SUNY Best of Show

April 15, 2016

Four works by students at Hudson Valley Community College were selected for the SUNY Student Art Best of Show exhibition slated to be on view from June 4 to Oct. 23, 2016 in the New York State Museum. The students are Jessica Mastrobuono, of Nassau; Cassaundra Fraley, of Schenectady; Andrea Hulseapple of Schenectady; and Oteria Ludwig, of Schodack Landing.

The works currently can be seen as part of SUNY's 2016 Spring Student Art Exhibition in the Gallery at State University Plaza. A reception for that exhibition will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 21.

"This is a notable accomplishment for our students. It is even more significant because the works selected for the Best of Show exhibition are chosen from submissions from all SUNY campuses, including those offering bachelor's and master's degree programs," said Thomas Lail, associate professor of Fine Arts at Hudson Valley.

The college's Department of Fine Arts, Theatre Arts and Broadcast Communications offers programs in Fine Arts and Digital Media, resulting in an Associate in Science degree or a certificate and giving students the choice of transferring to a four-year college or university or seeking immediate employment upon completion. Students have access to all of the college's studios, galleries and art facilities.
