Pride of Our Nation… Pride of Our College Exhibition
7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Troy Savings Bank Charitable Foundation Atrium, Marvin Library Learning Commons
The sixth annual "Pride of Our Nation… Pride of Our College" exhibition is on view through Monday, Dec. 7. The exhibit is a collaborative effort on the part of employees from several departments, is an ever-expanding collection of photographs and memorabilia of veterans and active military service members with a connection to the college.
Open to the public during regular library hours: 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, closed Sunday and Nov. 23 through Nov. 26.
Veteran Benefits Advisor
8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wellness Center, Siek Campus Center, suite 270
An accredited Veterans Benefits Advisor from the New York State Division of Veterans Affairs is available. Stop by the Wellness Center or call (518) 629-7320 to make an appointment for assistance with any state or federal veteran benefits including but not limited to: GI Bill, vocational rehabilitation, compensation and pension, VA healthcare, survivor's benefits, home loan guaranty, review of discharge, burial. If you are unsure of your eligibility or whether a program may benefit you, please take the time to stop by.

Heart Beatz: Therapeutic Drumming

Instant Admission Day
8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Guenther Enrollment Services Center, room 223
The Admissions Office hosts an Instant Admit Day for the Spring 2017 semester. The $30 application fee is waived. Prospective students should bring high school/college transcripts, as well as GED score reports if applicable, to receive a decision on the spot. Those wishing to begin the financial aid process or ask questions should bring their 2015 tax returns. (An Instant Admit Day also will be held on Nov. 16 from 8:15 a.m. to noon at TEC-SMART, 345 Hermes Road in Malta.) Information contact: Admissions, (518) 629-7309.
Chef Ric Orlando: Seafood For Keeps

Ric Orlando, of New World Home Cooking in Saugerties and New World Bistro Bar in Albany, has been a vocal advocate for responsibly-sourced food for a quarter of a century. Orlando sheds light on and unravels the facts, information and misinformation swirling around the media and social media regarding farmed fish, wild fish, sustainability and the impact of individual choices on the world. Orlando will demonstrate cooking with responsibly sourced food. Presented by Voices: A Library Lecture Series.

Faculty Artist Talk – Thomas Lail

Thomas Lail, professor of drawing and painting in the Department of Fine Arts, Theatre Arts and Digital Media, presents the second of four artist talks scheduled in conjunction with the Fine Arts and Digital Media Faculty Exhibit on view through Saturday, Dec. 3 in The Teaching Gallery.
The multi-media exhibition features work by Justin Baker, photography; Milt Connors, photography; Tara Fracalossi, photography; Kyra Garrigue, video; Richard Garrison, painting; Benj Gleeksman, graphic design; Monica Bill Hughes, painting; William Jaeger, photography; Lail, collage; Jean O'Malley, photography; Julie Pamkowski, photography; Ryan Parr, painting; GG Roberts, painting; Linda Ryder, prints; Jason Kates van Staveren, photography, and Jacqueline Weaver, installation.

Musicans of Ma'Alwyck: Celebrating Musical Genius
Noon to 12:50 p.m., Bulmer Telecommunications Center Auditorium
As devotees to music performed in 18th and 19th century America, the Musicians of Ma'Alwyck select much of their performance material through research in the special collections housed at the NYS Library. This program celebrates Pierre-Jean Porro (1750-1831), an influential French guitarist, composer and music publisher, Dutch composer and virtuoso violone player Wilhelm de Fesch (1687-1761), and features "Ship Captain," an early vaudeville piece by Carl Blum. The group is chamber ensemble-in-residence at the Schuyler Mansion, a state historic site in Albany, and at Schenectady County Community College. Presented by the Cultural Affairs Program.

Public Ice Skating
4 to 6:15 p.m., Conway Ice Rink, McDonough Sports Complex
Open recreational skating for all ages is offered at the 18,000-square-foot rink from 4 to 6:15 p.m. weekends and noon to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday through Sunday, March 7, 2017. Admission rates: $2 for children 2 to 17 years old; $2 for seniors (60+); and $3 for adults. Skate rentals: $3 each, toddlers through adults.
