Hudson Valley Community College’s Office of Community and Professional Education is offering a fun and educational travel experience this winter with the Pura Vida: Costa Rica Bio-Experience.

This five-day cultural immersion and adventure trip is the first time the college has sponsored an educational travel trip outside the United States. The Pura Vida program is designed to challenge participants to think critically and experience personal growth as they experience a culture different than their own. Participants will take part in several public improvement projects and also have the opportunity to discover the rich biodiversity of the country.

The Pura Vida program is just one of several educational links the college is building with Costa Rica, including the start of an English as a Second Language teacher training program with nearly 100 secondary public school teachers in the Central American Country as well as a connection with several technical universities in that country.

For more information on the Pura Vida Costa Rica Bio-Experience, contact the Office of Community and Professional Education at (518) 629-7339 or communityed@hvcc.edu. The deadline for registration is Wednesday, Oct. 19.
