Incoming HVCC students and parents at NC3 National CTE Letter of Intent Signing Day

For the second consecutive year, Hudson Valley Community College participated in the NC3 National CTE Letter of Intent Signing Day. The event, held on Thursday, April 18 in Hudson Valley’s Gene F. Haas Center for Advanced Manufacturing Skills, recognized incoming students who are committing to degrees in technical education.

The national event sponsored by the National Coalition of Certification Centers (NC3) mirrors the NCAA’s National Signing Day for athletes who commit to play sports in college. It is designed to honor students who are entering a technical field and to celebrate the dignity of their future work. Dozens of other NC3 Leadership Schools across the country participated in the signing day as well.

The National Coalition of Certification Centers (NC3) is a U.S. organization that focuses on creating highly-skilled, job-ready professionals through a growing network of educational partners and global industry leaders.

Several students enrolling in a variety of degrees in the Applied Technologies and Engineering, Architecture and Manufacturing Departments from School of STEM attended the event, including Advanced Manufacturing Technology AOS, Automotive Management AAS, Automotive Technical Services AOS, Automotive Technical Services-Autobody Repair AOS, Clean Energy Management AAS, Electric and Autonomous Vehicles AOS/Certificate, Electrical Construction and Maintenance AOS, Heating/Air Conditioning/Refrigeration Technical Services AOS, Mechatronics AAS and Welding and Fabrication AOS programs.

“Hudson Valley is very excited to offer this event on our campus again this year and to welcome many new students to the college,” President Roger Ramsammy said. “Our dedicated faculty and staff from the School of STEM are proud to partner with NC3 and offer this nationwide event to promote the success of our students. This is an exciting time for incoming students, and we are proud to celebrate their decision of pursuing a technical education degree at Hudson Valley.”
