For the second consecutive year, Hudson Valley Community College was voted the Best College in the Times Union’s 2025 annual readers’ choice poll.

According to the Times Union, the Best of the Capital Region poll is a chance for readers to share their knowledge on products, places and services throughout the area. Approximately 10,000 people submitted 75,000 nominations in 101 categories. Final voting ran from Feb. 19 and through March 1, and winners were announced on May 18.

The college’s Office of Communications and Marketing led efforts to encourage voting from core stakeholders and the general public. Members of the Student Senate, Honors College, Foundation and Athletics were a huge help in getting out the vote on campus.

“We are honored and incredibly grateful to be named “best college” for the second year in a row,” said Officer in Charge Louis Coplin. “This recognition is a testament to the unwavering dedication of our faculty, staff, students, alumni and community. The Capital Region is a special place, and Hudson Valley strives every day to empower the futures of its students, workforce and community. Thank you to everyone who voted and helped get out the vote, and thank you to the Times Union for offering this opportunity each year.”
