The organizations listed below offer scholarships for students enrolled in Part 147 aviation maintenance programs. These opportunities are designed to support your journey toward becoming a certified A&P mechanic.

NOTE: Hudson Valley Community College does not endorse or manage these scholarships and does not participate in the selection or awarding process.

Aircraft Electronics Association (AEA)
Since its inception, the AEA Educational Foundation has awarded more than $1.5 million to students seeking careers in the aircraft electronics and aviation maintenance industry, as well as technicians from AEA member companies.

With unprecedented demand for pilots, technicians, and crewmembers, now is a great time to enter aviation. The scholarships listed on the AOPA page can help you achieve your aviation goals.

Choose Aerospace Scholarship and Award Opportunities
Choose Aerospace is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) partnership of aerospace stakeholders, joined together to address one of the biggest threats to continued industry growth: the availability of a diverse, qualified technical workforce. They offer several maintenance-related scholarships, most of which are sponsored by aviation equipment manufacturers.

Global Air - Calvin L. Carrithers Aviation Scholarship
The Calvin L. Carrithers Aviation Scholarship will provide $1,000 annually to four American students who are dedicated to blogging on a weekly basis about flight training, flying, school, and their interest in aviation.

Mid-Continent Instruments + Avionics Scholarships
Offers the Pat Napolitano Memorial Scholarship for Aspiring Technicians in memory of Pat Napolitano, Fleet Support Representative and Staggerwing Pilot for Mid-Continent Instruments and Avionics. This scholarship is designed to help graduating high school seniors and current college students get the education they need to become successful aircraft maintenance technicians.

National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) Scholarships
The NBAA Charities scholarship program, generously supported by NBAA member donors, offers nearly $100,000 annually in cash awards as tuition reimbursement for enrolled students and nearly the same amount in monetary and training awards for working professionals in business aviation, including pilots, maintenance professionals, schedulers, dispatchers, flight attendants and flight technicians.

Professional Aviation Maintenance Association (PAMA) Scholarships
PAMA provides scholarships and awards to aviation maintenance professionals.

University Aviation Association (UAA) Scholarships
The University Aviation Association (UAA) is the voice of collegiate aviation to colleges, universities, the aviation industry, government and the general public. The organization works through the almost 1,500 members from 131 member colleges and universities in the U.S., Canada, Australia, Europe, and Asia to meet the ever-changing needs of the aviation industry and address the challenges of the 21st century.

Whirly-Girls International Scholarships
Whirly-Girls International is a nonprofit, educational and charitable organization dedicated to advancing women in helicopter aviation. There are several direct sponsored scholarships for maintenance students offered, however most are for certificated A&Ps seeking advanced training in a specific type of helicopter.

Women in Aviation International Scholarships
Women in Aviation International (WAI) envisions a world where the sky is open to all, where aviation and aerospace dreams are possible without barriers. The scholarships offered change throughout the year, so check back often. Open to WAI members only, but membership is open to all genders.
