The Accounting A.A.S. program is designed for students who want to focus their studies in accounting and also receive a solid business foundation.

Coursework in accounting computerized systems, federal income tax and other electives allow you to explore the many specializations associated with the field of accounting. You will learn to use some of the most commonly-used accounting software in the field as well.

This program is primarily designed for those who wish to enter the workforce immediately following graduation. Some graduates may wish to transfer to a four-year institution, and articulation agreements exist with several colleges.

Career and Transfer Opportunities

Career opportunities exist in a many business settings for those who complete the program, including: staff accountant, bookkeeping, accounts payable clerk, accounts receivable clerk and payroll clerk. Graduates may also choose to continue their education at a four-year college or university.

Salaries vary based on position and degree attainment. Many accounting positions require a bachelor's degree or higher and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
