Foundations of Artificial Intelligence (Microcredential)

The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is expanding rapidly in numerous areas, and especially in the areas of manufacturing, healthcare, transportation, agriculture, and energy. Demand for AI familiarity and job skills is predicted to increase by more than 38% by 2030 (Grand View Research, 2022). As educators preparing a workforce for jobs both in the present and the future, we want to give our students the opportunity to learn about, understand, and gain job skills in this emerging and vital area.

This microcredential will give students a thorough grounding in basic computer and information technology skills, a broad overview of artificial intelligence as a cultural and industrial force, exposure to major areas of AI, and hands-on experience both with no-code AI tools, and with one of the most in-demand programing languages for AI.
