Dental Assisting Competencies
Graduates of the Dental Assisting Certificate program will:
- Gain knowledge in oral and written communications and dental assisting sciences to be successful in the field.
- Develop a sense of professionalism and function as an integral part of the health care team and member of a licensed health profession.
- Develop a sense of personal responsibility, self-reliance and discipline for the benefit of self and public health welfare.
- Develop independent thinking and the ability to document, analyze, problem solve and reach sound rational conclusions.
- Develop culturally appropriate interventions when working with diverse patients and coworkers. Integrate cultural competency into patient centered care.
- Foster a life-long interest in learning.
