Victim Services I (Microcredential)
This 12-credit microcredential provides a basic understanding of the study of crime victimology and the psychological effects of crime victims’ experiences. The coursework will provide knowledge and professional development for social workers, human service professionals, criminal justice professionals and victim service providers or those looking to work or volunteer in the field of victim services.
Students who complete this microcredential will gain an understanding of victims’ rights and services, the basics of criminal justice and the issues facing victims of crime.

Upon the completion of this microcredential, students will be able to:
- Describe the basics of the criminal justice system
- Apply knowledge of victims’ rights and services to settings in law enforcement, the courts and in corrections
- Articulate the different types of social and human services as they relate to victims’ issues and services
