Amazing Athletes

Amazing Athletes is a developmental sports and fitness program that teaches children the basic fundamentals and mechanics of nine different sports: baseball, basketball, football, golf, hockey, lacrosse, soccer, tennis and volleyball. Our program incorporates exercises for gross motor development, hand-eye coordination, cardiovascular fitness, speed and agility, and stretching and muscle tone. The sports will be divided up throughout the week. The children are able to learn and practice the basic fundamentals of each sport through game-based activities.

Applied Technology Summer Camp

ENTERING GRADES 9 – 11

Is your young high schooler interested in an applied technology career?
Think about enrolling them in a new week-long camp that will expose them to a variety of in-demand applied technology careers. Campers will interact with college faculty and use the same labs where our Applied Technology students train. A complete schedule will be provided before camp begins.

Participants will learn basic technical skills:
• Taking precision measurements
• Using a multi-meter
• Using diagnostic tools, including automotive scanners, refrigerant pressure gauges, and materials analyzers
• Reading schematics (electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic)
• Assembling complex components
• Diagnosing and repairing complex systems

Beats and Jams: Digital Music Creators

Begin your rise to the top of the charts with digital music production! Just like today’s top artists, you can design your own beats or remix a mashup of your favorite songs to become a digital composer and sound engineer.  In this course, students will learn to produce digital music, record sound, make sound effects, and mix their own tracks. No prior music experience is necessary. Student- created soundtracks will be available on a password-protected website to share with friends and family.

Circus Theatricks

SIX weeks of circus!  

Seano and friends return for multiple weeks of juggling, stilting, and acrobatic fun!

 

Beginning campers will be introduced to the arts of juggling, tumbling, acrobatics, magic, and the secrets and skills of circus clowns. Returning campers, get ready to be challenged and further your skills in the circus arts.

 

Our first week will be focused on younger students (ages 6-13), giving them an opportunity to try out new skills among peers at similar experience levels. All skill levels are welcome for weeks two through five. Our sixth week will be focused on expanding the performance levels of older students (ages 12-17) who show interest and abilities beyond camp fun.

Eyes on the Sky: STEM Drone Camp

Students will learn everything they need to know to become a skilled drone pilot. They will learn the basics of drone operation on a flight simulator and then take to the skies with a real drone! Once basic techniques are mastered, students will learn how to take pictures and videos using their drone, and explore land surveying and solar panel and wind turbine inspection. The week will culminate with a fun series of activities and competitions. Students will also learn about the various components of a drone and will be exposed to FAA regulations for drone pilots to ensure safe flying. Course fee includes $50 materials fee.

Junior Scientist Camp

ENTERING GRADES 9 - 11


Through hands-on science experiments and fun STEM activities, students will learn how scientists conduct research. Students will explore macromolecules in our food, learn about the ubiquity of microorganisms and spread of disease, analyze DNA from a crime scene investigation, and test the learning behavior of C. elegans. Experiments will reinforce the laboratory skills of micropipetting, gel electrophoresis and graphing, and encourage critical thinking. Course fee includes $60 materials fee.

Mock Trial: A Day In Court

Play the roles of judge, defendant, plaintiff, witness, lawyer, bailiff, or juror in several mock trials. Learn how to make opening and closing statements, how to phrase objections, and how to question witnesses. Taylor Swift - The Eras

Each day, this camp will center on two or three of Taylor Swift’s albums, with corresponding activities and crafts, like making friendship bracelets. We’ll also play games based on Taylor, such as Name that Tune and Taylor Swift Jeop­ardy, and listen to clean versions of her songs. The final day of camp will include Taylor Swift karaoke. Technology Enrichment Grades 5 - 8

At Bethlehem Middle School

Full-day program for students entering grades 5-8

 

The Technology Enrichment Program gives students a chance to discover their interests and talents through hands-on, activity-packed learning sessions. Students 

will be given the opportunity to explore several dynamic areas, including: The Magic of Unexplained Phenomena, Computer Drawing and 3D Printing, Robotics and Programming, and more!

 

The program will meet Monday through Friday for one week. Campers will have a half hour for lunch and are expected to bring their own lunch and beverage. Refrigeration is not available.

 

Campers will participate in all modules throughout the day. Bethlehem Middle School is located at 332 Kenwood Avenue in Delmar, NY.

Write Your Own Play

This exciting and creative summer camp allows students to unleash their imagination and bring their theatrical visions to life. Participants will learn the fundamentals of playwriting, including crafting compelling characters, engaging dialogue, and dramatic storylines. As budding playwrights, they’ll also step into the director’s shoes, holding auditions, casting roles, and guiding their peers through the rehearsal process. By the end of the week, students will gain valuable insights into the art of storytelling and the behind-the-scenes work that brings a play to the stage. Course fee includes $10 materials fee.

Whether you want to build the next great American company, become a Wall Street tycoon, or become the millionaire next door by investing wisely - this camp is for you! In this course, you will learn the basics of investing in the stock market, the difference between assets and liabilities, the importance of diversification, and how to evaluate companies. You will also develop your own business plan and present your ideas to your peers to compete for their investments in a mock “Shark Tank”-style activity. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.
